Virtual AdTaker and Digital Technology International (DTI) complete interface for the Lexington Herald-Leader

06/18/2008

DENVER, Colo. - Virtual AdTaker jointly with DTI recently completed an interface to invoice realtors placing display ads in the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Through Virtual AdTaker’s Realty Ad Express, customers create their own display ads, preview and proof the ads and submit payment, via the Internet. The interface can either send the billing information or prepayment into the Lexington Herald-Leader’s DTI system. The old process of manually gathering and entering customer information, ad copy and photos has been replaced. This faster, easier and more accurate method of gathering and transferring data can save the newspaper time in order entry, production and billing.  This process can be used by both private party and commercial customers for in column in any category or real estate display ads.

“The Lexington Herald-Leader recently partnered with Virtual Ad Taker (VAT) and Digital Technologies Inc. (DTI) to implement an interface between the two systems.  The result has been a system that automatically feeds customer ad orders from VAT into our DTI Classified system.  This has dramatically reduced the amount of sales staff time needed to process these ads.  It also greatly reduces the possibility for error that can occur when ads are manually entered, states Mary Ann Hatton, Advertising Operations Manager from the Lexington Herald-Leader.”

Mary Ann further states, “throughout the process, VAT was an excellent company to partner with.  Our project manager, Renae Gerkin, was consistently proactive and worked hard to keep the players at all three companies on track.  As with any sizable implementation, we encountered bumps in the road, and Renae was masterful at steering us all into the clear.  Her technical knowledge dovetailed with her negotiation skills kept the project moving forward on schedule to a successful conclusion.  We are very pleased with the process and the results.”

The Lexington Herald-Leader has offered Virtual AdTaker’s Realty Ad Express to individual real estate agents and brokers since July, 2007.  Realty Ad Express is a seamless self serve process for creating real estate display ads, complete with data population, image & logo uploads, instant proofing and payment.

Virtual AdTaker products were developed as a means of providing private party and commercial customers the tools to efficiently build their own image rich ads online.

Virtual AdTaker offers a suite of advertising products custom-made for the newspaper industry. The company is staffed with experienced personnel who understand the publishing environment, recognize publisher needs and believe in the power of superior customer service.
